Situated to the north of the Island in a parkland setting, with some sea views. Green fees - Weekdays £15.00; Weekends £18.00. Visitors welcome except Sunday before 1.00pm and Thursdays (Ladies Day) 11.30am - 3.30pm.
OSBORNE GOLF COURSE 9 Hole Course 6372 yards S.S.S. 70
Again located to the north of the Island, in Osborne Estate Parkland. Green fees - Weekdays £18.00; Weekends and Bank Holidays £20.00. Visitors welcome except Saturdays and Sundays before 12 noon and Tuesdays before 1.00pm.
FRESHWATER BAY GOLF CLUB 18 Hole Course 5725 yards S.S.S. 68
Situated on the southwest coastline of the Island. A downland setting with sea views. Green fees - Weekdays £20.00; Weekends & Bank Holidays £24.00. Visitors welcome.

Situated in the centre of the Island, to the southeast of the town. A downland course. Green fees - Weekdays £15.00; Weekends £17.50. Visitors welcome at any time except Wednesday afternoons, Saturdays after 3.00pm and Sunday afternoons
RYDE GOLF COURSE 9 Hole Course 5287 yards S.S.S. 66
On the northeast side of the Island, just outside the town travelling towards Wootton. A parkland course. Green fees - Weekdays £15.00; Weekends & Bank Holidays £20.00. Visitors welcome, restrictions Wednesdays and Sundays.

Situated on the southeast side of the Island, about one mile from Sandown. Heathland course. Green fees - Weekdays £25.00; Weekends & Bank Holidays £30.00. Visitors welcome, weekends after 12noon/1pm. Bona fide golfers only. Handicap certificate preferred.
WESTRIDGE GOLF COURSE 9 Hole Course S.S.S. 56
Situated on the northeast side of the Island, between Ryde and Brading. A downland course. Green fees - Weekdays £8.00; Weekends & Bank Holidays £9.00. Visitors welcome. Club hire available. Floodlit Golf Range.

Located to the south of the Island, northwest of the town. A downland course. Green fees - Weekdays £14.00; Weekends & Bank Holidays £16.00. Visitors welcome, Sundays after 1.00pm, Fridays (Ladies Day) 12 noon - 3.00pm

Brian was the Media and Marketing Officer for the Isle of Wight Cricket Board (IWCB), the governing body for cricket on the Island which is affiliated to the England and Wales Cricket Board. Visit the IWCB web site at www.isleofwightcricketboard.co.uk.

24 Island cricket clubs, are affiliated to the IWCB, and there are 12 non-affiliated teams - in total more clubs per square mile than anywhere in mainland England, making the locality an ideal mecca for touring teams. In 2003 one hundred and twenty teams toured the Island, from as far afield as South Africa and Australia.
